Dr. Raja Tiwari is presently an Assistant professor in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi, India’s premier medical research and training institute. He completed his super-specialty training (MCh) in plastic surgery at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh, India, in December 2011. Having received his medical training at India’s reputed institutes, he spent the next three years as a consultant plastic surgeon in a 200- bed private sector tertiary care hospital in the National Capital Region of India. He was subsequently selected for an Aesthetic surgery fellowship by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) in April 2014, the first Indian to win this award. As part of this fellowship, he travelled across the United States and learnt the intricacies of Aesthetic surgery from the best experts in the field. He then travelled to Japan and spent a year as a fellow in Hand, microsurgery and brachial plexus surgery at Ogori Daiichi General Hospital, Yamaguchi; where he underwent exhaustive training in double free muscle transfers under the able guidance of Dr. Kazuteru Doi. He is also the first Indian to be selected for the Advanced reconstructive Microsurgery fellowship awarded by the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia, which enabled him to spend 6 months learning and developing advanced microsurgery skills under Dr. Ian Taylor’s mentorship.

Dr. Tiwari’s current position as faculty at AIIMS provides him ample opportunity to pursue his core interests in extremity reconstruction, oncosurgical reconstruction & brachial plexus surgeries. He has profound interest in chimeric flaps and free functioning muscle transfers for trauma reconstruction. AIIMS is India’s apex tertiary care referral center with approximately 2000 beds; with a dedicated Burns and Plastic Surgery center comprising 100 beds. The attached Trauma center offers round-the-clock emergency services, where more than 80 replantation cases were performed this year. Dr. Tiwari is also a proficient academician with tremendous interest in innovation and research. His present research interest includes ‘Pilot study on Robotic brachial plexus reconstruction’. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications and has delivered several presentations and lectures at various international and national platforms. He has been a thesis guide & co-guide to several sub-specialty residents at AIIMS. He has been instrumental in regularly organizing training programs, workshops, and seminars for plastic surgery residents across the country. Dr. Tiwari is also a prominent member of the Association of Plastic surgeons of India and has been involved in organizing several cadaveric workshops for the association at AIIMS.

Raja Tiwari医生目前是新德里全印度医学科学院(AIIMS)整形和重建外科的助理教授，全印度医学科学院(AIIMS)是印度首屈一指的医学研究和培训机构。2011年12月，他在印度昌迪加尔著名的医学教育和研究研究生院(PGIMER)完成了整形外科的超级专业培训(MCh)。在印度著名的研究所接受了医学培训后，他在印度首都地区一家拥有200张床位的私营三级保健医院担任整形外科顾问三年。随后，2014年4月，他获得美国美容整形外科学会(ASAPS)的整形外科奖学金，成为第一位荣获该奖项的印度人。作为该奖学金的一部分，他周游美国各地，并从该领域最好的专家那里学习了复杂的整形手术。随后他去了日本，在山口市Ogori Daiichi General Hospital做了一年的手、显微外科及臂丛手术;在那里，他在Kazuteru Doi教授的指导下进行了双侧游离肌肉转移的高强度训练。他也是第一个获得澳大利亚皇家墨尔本医院授予的高级重建显微外科奖学金的印度人，这使他能够在Ian Taylor教授的指导下用六个月的时间学习和发展高级显微外科技术。

Tiwari医生目前在全印度医学研究院担任教职，这为他提供了充分的机会来追求他在肢体重建、肿瘤外科重建和臂丛手术方面的核心兴趣。他对用于创伤重建的嵌合皮瓣和自由功能肌肉移植有着浓厚的兴趣。全印度医学研究院是印度的顶级三级护理转诊中心，大约有2000个床位;还有一个专门的烧伤和整形外科中心，共有100张床位。附属的创伤中心提供24小时紧急服务，今年在这里进行了80多例再植手术。Tiwari医生也是一位对创新和研究有着极大兴趣的精通学者。他目前的研究兴趣包括“机器人臂丛重建的初步研究”。他撰写了几本同行评议的出版物，并在各种国际和国内平台上做了数次报告和讲座。他在全印度医学科学院担任论文指导及数个附属专业住院医师的共同指导。他一直在为全国各地的整形外科住院医生定期组织项目培训、讲习班和研讨会。Tiwari医生也是印度整形外科医生协会的杰出成员，并参与组织了该协会在全印度医学科学院的多个解剖标本研讨会。
