President Xi Jinping calls for quicker action to build a New Silk Road

Chinese President Xi Jinping has asked for a road-map on building a New Silk Road to be written up as soon as possible.
President Xi has called for both a land-based belt and a maritime route to connect Asia-Pacific economies in the east, with Europe in the west. He said China hopes to share opportunities and increase prosperity along the Silk Road belt economies.
Xi also requested for an Asian infrastructure investment bank and silk road funds to be set up, to provide financial support for infrastructure projects along the roads
