只要你尽力而为

When friends tell me their various reasons
for being 'unable' to be full vegans,
despite 'knowing' its rationale,
I reply by saying:
'As long as you do your best.'
In case they feel 'pressurised',
I hesitate to ask,
'Are you sure you are already doing your best?'
I just smile and encourage on…
'As long as you do your best.'
Dharma practice is doing the best we can
to improve ourselves, to help others,
to realise wisdom, to practise compassion.
'As long as you do your best' from moment to moment,
you will truly become the best eventually.

当朋友们告诉我他们因为种种原因
不能成为一个完全的素食主义者的时候
尽管我知道那些理由也很有道理
我回答他们说：只要你尽力而为
为了不让他们感觉压力太大
我不会直接去问：你确定你已经尽了自己最大的努力吗？
我只是面带微笑并鼓励他们继续努力。。。
只要你尽了最大努力
修行就是尽我们所能
去完善我们自己、去帮助别人
去了悟智慧、去践习同情
只要你不断地尽你最大的努力
你最终会成为最好的
